About Nexus Estate Planning
Nexus Estate Planning is led by Tracy Bissett, Chartered Financial Planner (CII), Qualified Later Life Advisor (SOLLA), and qualified Will Writer.
Recognising that many of her clients did not have adequate estate planning, Tracy completed training with The Will People and The Society of Will Writers so that she could help. Ensuring that her clients have their wishes met and affairs in order is of utmost importance to Tracy, who has also undertaken training in Trusts to fully support her clients with estate planning.
About Tracy

I opened our Will writing company in 2009 after completing our training with the Will People and the Society of Will writers.
In addition to completing training in Wills and Power of Attorneys I also have training in trusts.
In addition I am a chartered financial planner and a qualified later life adviser with SOLLA.
I enjoy working with my clients and ensuring their wishes are met and their affairs are in order
Why do I need a Will?
It is important for everyone to have a will because it helps to ensure that your assets go to your loved ones. Making a will means that you have full control of your estate. You decide who inherits what and when.
A properly drafted will should ensure that family disputes are avoided. It can ensure that you have left guardians and trustees for your children if necessary and to avoid any of your estate passing to the Government under intestacy laws.
People often delay making their will until it is too late. Illness or worse can strike at any time.
- Without a will, your estate could suffer:
- If you are not married (or in a civil partnership), your partner will get nothing.
- Your children may not be looked after by the guardians you wanted
- If there is no executor, you will have to wait until the court appoints one.
- The administration of your estate could take significantly longer and will cost a lot more.
- No gifts can be made to family or charities.

Power Of Attorney (POA)
Of at least equal importance to a Will are Continuing and Welfare Power of Attorney.
Consideration should be given whilst still in good health, to the consequence of becoming incapable and being unable to administer your own personal and business affairs.
The potential benefits of putting in place a Power of Attorney should not be underestimated.
This important document ensures the continuing administration of personal and business affairs should an individual become incapable of dealing with their affairs at any stage of their life.
Incapacity can arise at any time, either as a consequence of accident or illness and it may be either temporary or permanent. In all these situations, a trusted person or persons can deal with matters on behalf of the client providing they have the necessary authority to do so. There is very little which one individual can do in the name of another without running into difficulty, for example, because of data protection and other “red tape”.
